Pizzeria El Higueron

Such a cute place. We were seated quickly, service was excellent and the food delicious. Highly recommend the brushetta and margarita pizza.

Second time we visited this Italian restaurant ???????? and we were satisfied both times. First a couple months ago we arrived just before closing time, yet the waiters were friendly and still gave us a table. Quick service and delicious pasta meal. We returned for lunch this time and we can’t complain at all. The meals are delicious (menu had a design upgrade for the better ) and the staff are friendly. Great prices too.

We recently bought a villa around the corner that we moved into. We’ve eaten here numerous times; it’s close, it’s quick, the service has always been good and all the food has been good. We often order take away for delivery and they are quick and the food is still hot when it arrives. It’s true that it doesn’t have much of a view, but it does have outdoor seating and it is OK. Getting ready to order for delivery again tonight.

Visited for a late afternoon meal with my wife and kids. Got a table outside on the road terrace out of the sun. Not a place to go for scenic views but pleasant enough. We only had pizzas, some garlic bread and drinks. The wait for the food was normal. The food was fantastic, lovely pizzas and garlic bread. The atmosphere was pleasant enough and the staff friendly, it got busier whilst we were there but this was managed well by the staff. All told it was about €52 which I thought was very good, compared to prices down the sea front. We will definitely be visiting again.

A wonderful Italian experience — with room for improvement on service La Bella Sophia is without doubt one of the best Italian restaurants we’ve been to here on the Costa del Sol. The food is nothing short of excellent: authentic, flavourful, and of truly high quality. The homemade pasta deserves special mention — silky, perfectly cooked, and bursting with that deep, rustic Italian taste you rarely find outside Italy. It’s a dining experience that sticks with you, and the kitchen easily earns top marks. The restaurant is just a few minutes’ walk from our home in Higuerón, and having parking right in front is a big plus. You can sit both indoors and outdoors, and the atmosphere is lively and charming. There’s almost always a full house, which speaks volumes about how popular and well-regarded this place is — and rightly so. However, that popularity is also something of an Achilles’ heel for La Bella Sophia. You can feel how hard the staff are working, and at times they clearly struggle to keep up. The waiters don’t seem to be professionally trained but rather extra help doing their best, which unfortunately means that eye contact and attentive service often slip in the rush. There are more staff than last year, which is a positive development, but there’s still a way to go before the service matches the exceptional level of the kitchen. We’ve also used their take-away service several times, and here there’s absolutely nothing to complain about — the food is ready in about 20 minutes, even when the restaurant is full. It’s efficient and shows how well-organised the kitchen is. All in all, La Bella Sophia remains a gem for us, and we keep coming back for the food. I do hope, though, that management soon prioritises upgrading the service so that it can live up to the outstanding standard set by the kitchen. Eat here very often - live close by. Pizza always gorgeous and crispy on the bottom Pasta gorgeous too Today had Bruschetta Pomodoro for lunch Waiter suggested avocado too Deelicious! So nice of him to suggest! Blush rose wine also delicious All staff lovely and attentive HIGHLY Recommend!
